Control Unit (DC1)
The DC1 control unit is designed as the central element of the Vigi-Spark® system for fire and explosion prevention in industrial processes.
It manages spark detection, alarm logic, and activation of extinguishing or shutdown functions in installations where sparks, hot particles, or embers may be generated and transported.
The unit is suitable for operation in environments with potential explosive dust atmospheres and ensures continuous monitoring of process lines such as ducts, conveyors, and material handling systems.
Each DC1 unit can connect up to four spark detectors and two automatic extinguishing modules, allowing control of one installation or two independent process zones.
The system operates with a two-level control logic, combining immediate response with configurable safety actions.
System Functions
The DC1 control unit manages and supervises:
- Up to 4 SDN or SDD spark detectors
- Up to 2 automatic extinguishing units
- Heat tracing systems
- Water flow, pressure, and valve status
The system activates a two-stage response:
- Stage 1: Immediate suppression and alarm activation upon detection
- Stage 2: Configurable shutdown of ventilation, filtration, or production systems
The system performs automatic self-testing at regular intervals to ensure reliable operation, with the option for manual verification when required.
Flexible configuration and decentralized monitoring allow adaptation to specific process requirements and industrial installations.
